Snug Harbor Wildlife Rescue & Sanctuary
"The purity of a person's heart can be quickly measured by how they regard animals."
Theophile Gautier
Getting involved in a non-profit organization is always a fulfilling experience! Snug Harbor Wildlife wants our community to be a part of our mission! Since we are a home-based rescue, our volunteer opportunities are a little different than those of other rescue and rehabilitation facilities.
There are a lot more risks with wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, this requires certain experience and training. Some of our volunteer opportunities will not be hands-on with our wildlife for that reason, we will have tasks like cleaning cages/laundry, preparing formula/food, event help, administrative tasks, fundraising assistance, and more.
Many activities in non-profits are commonly organized through membership programs. With Snug Harbor Wildlife's membership programs, we have an application process that helps us get to know you better, and how you want to be involved with us and accommodate your schedule.
Application Process:
When you reach out to us with your volunteer application or inquiry to try to become a rehabber our board members will review your information. Depending on our availability and class schedule we may not have opportunities for a few weeks or a few months. Volunteer opportunities will also depend on what area of the state you live in, we have rehabbers all over the state of SC. Some rehabbers have 2-3 animals and others may have dozens and need more help. The season/time of year can also vary with how much help we need.
We will respond once we have your information reviewed so we can work out the next steps! We are always thrilled to add to our team and share our passion and lifestyle with our friends, family and neighbors!
